Our nation's independence movement was inspired by the Patrick Henry assertion that "taxation without representation constituted tyranny". We had no vote or say in King George's England on tax policy, trade policy, or tariffs.

I think that by 2010, things are going to be so crazy and taxes so onerous, that the people will throw out all incumbents. You may believe this baloney that things have improved, but I don't see anything improving- zip-nada-nothing. Trillions have been spent and Obama is banking on 3 million jobs being created prior to the election. We have six million unemployed right now. By 2010, he'll still have at least six million unemployed, maybe more. Government doesn't create jobs. People and small businesses create jobs- they are in the process of being taxed to death by the states in which they reside. Change we can believe in. Don't think so.

Instead of giving big banks and the big 3 money. Give each American over the age of 18 who paid taxes last year $300,000.00 each. Tax free. They real people will pay off mortgage (good one and bad ones), pay off their cars, credit cards, student loans and other bill they have. Which WILL stimulate the economy. If you own your house, you will probably do some project, there again stimulating the economy.
No bonuses, no asking for more. we should try this. It has a better potential of stimulating the economy and restoring confidence. It would certainly work for me.
I would pay off my mortgage.

The Senate's second-ranking Democrat slammed recent town-hall protests over health care on Sunday, insisting they violate "the democratic process," while the Senate's top Republican accused Democrats of "attacking citizens" with such complaints.
US to citizens: shut up, we don't care what you think!

WASHINGTON -- Top White House officials counseled Democratic senators Thursday on coping with disruptions at public events on health care this summer, officials said, and promised the party and allies would respond with twice the force if any individual lawmaker is criticized in television advertising.
These officials also told skittish senators that fresh polling suggests an emphasis on issues such as barring insurers from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions is a political winner, able to increase support among independents, women, seniors and rural voters.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss details of the closed-door session that took place hours before lawmakers headed to their home states for a month long vacation.
In the week since the House began its own break, several town hall-style meetings have been disrupted by noisy demonstrators. These episodes have drawn widespread media attention, and Republicans have seized on them as well as polls showing a decline in support for President Barack Obama and his agenda as evidence that public support is lacking for his signature legislation.

What do I get for my federal taxes? Our public schools are failing, Social Security is insolvent, Medicare & Medicaid are run by a corrupt government that uses taxpayer money to overpay the corporations that run it.
Our military is in shambles, our economy is on the brink of complete collapse and all our leaders can think of to do in order to solve the problem is to use our tax dollars to bail out the mistakes of corporations while Americans end up homeless and broke. And stuck with the bill.

Ministers are facing a dilemma over their battle to combat swine flu. They will have to decide if Britain should cut back production of seasonal flu vaccines in order to allow pharmaceutical companies to concentrate on making a vaccine against the new virus.

What is this all about?
Our nation's independence movement was inspired by the Patrick Henry assertion that "taxation without representation constituted tyranny". We had no vote or say in King George's England on tax policy, trade policy, or tariffs.
Today, we face a different threat - one in our nations capital and leadership. Many believe that recent economic events have forced US citizens into accepting government oversight and control which we never agreed to.
Which begs the question: What Would Our Founding Fathers Do?
